VIIAL - Supernova

An emotional and evocative track, “Supernova” marks an interesting detour into a more shoegaze-sounding territory for Portuguese artist VIIAL.

The song is inspired by the famous Van Gogh painting “The Starry Night” and was originally included in the online collective project “The Sound Gallery” by American artist Godsviolin.

The track starts out with a lonesome piano melody, surrounded by a swirling and mysterious soundscape, which soon explodes into a gorgeous and uplifting melody with full instrumentation.

The vocal delivery is reminiscent of Sigur Ros, with the ethereal production adding to the effect.

If you enjoy bands like Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros you might want to give “Supernova” a listen.
