“leasi beat 3 (a new beginning)” is the third installment of the “leasi beat” collections - a series of EPs by Dutch artist Leasi in which the common thread is the hyperpop influences that can be heard throughout these releases.

The EP’s first track “headphone festival” is also the most chill of the three, even though it has a pumping dance beat going on throughout most of the song. It’s an instrumental piece that will leave you tapping your feet in time with the track, which also features lush pads, arpeggios, and an insanely catchy lead melody.

The second track, “dancing on my own”, is my personal favorite out of the three cuts. The thumping beat is relentless and the high-pitched auto-tuned vocals are perfect for this track. The hook of the song along with the hypnotic melody in the background make this a memorable production that you won’t be able to get out of your head for the rest of the day.

The last track is called “stressed & bored” and is equally catchy, even though it's more low-key than “dancing on my own”. Lyrically it’s the most emotional song out of the three and the vocal production and effects are really unique and will keep you interested throughout.

If you’re into hyperpop you will definitely want to give this release a listen.

And what a return to form it is. Arnon Ray Pereira - Easy on me

  Arnon Ray Pereira is a singer-songwriter based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. And who knew that this tropical island had so much soul to share with the world? "Easy on me" is a beautifully crafted song that reminds us of those old soul and jazz tunes that are perfect for a lazy sunday afternoon or a even hot summer evening. The production is fittingly sparse, with a groovy bassline running throughout the track accompanied by some chill guitar chords and a chorus of backing vocals. Pereira has a very warm tone to his voice that lays perfectly on top of the instrumental as he begs the object of his affection to "go easy" on him.
