  Trouble is the most recent single by Winsconsin singer-songwriter Jerrika Mighelle. The song marks the artist's first release since her debut album Like the Sea , which came out back in 2017. And what a return to form it is. The track grabs you from its very first line as Jerrika sings "I've been all alone, nearly lifeless", and prepares to take us on a powerful journey lead by her amazing vocals - a unique blend of old soul with a bit of country twang and an undeniable rock edge. Her performance is raw and filled with passion and will leave you in awe of what Jerrika can do with her voice, particularly as the song reaches its explosive climax. The production is simple and effective, with great-sounding instruments and an immersive and atmospheric mix.   Arnon Ray Pereira is a singer-songwriter based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. And who knew that this tropical island had so much soul to share with the world? "Easy on me" is a beautifully crafted song that reminds us of those old soul and jazz tunes that are perfect for a lazy sunday afternoon or a even hot summer evening. The production is fittingly sparse, with a groovy bassline running throughout the track accompanied by some chill guitar chords and a chorus of backing vocals. Pereira has a very warm tone to his voice that lays perfectly on top of the instrumental as he begs the object of his affection to "go easy" on him.   “Lost In Atlantis” is the second collaboration between Saudi Arabian songwriter and instrumentalist Mebo and UK based producer Frequency Creature. They had previously released the EP “Supernova Love” and have now returned with their first LP together - “Lost In Atlantis”. Mebo’s lyrics and melodies are often emotional and introspective, helped by his performance which is at times reminiscent of grunge singers like Kurt Cobain. Frequency Creature’s production helps bring out this emotional quality in the songwriting, with some surprising choices popping up every now and again which will keep you guessing, like the unexpected synth solo in “Inside”. Overall a very gratifying listening experience if you like alternative rock soundscapes interspersed with some electronic elements.   “Zoo Interior” is the third EP released by Portuguese artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Ikigai Cosmonaut. It’s an epic musical journey that takes inspiration from the animal kingdom as well as many references from the artist’s own life to create a unique and emotional soundscape that explores the interior of the human mind in its most animalistic sense. “A Quem Cantam as Baleias” is the perfect opener with the mystical cries of whales leading into a heavy tribal beat that grows in intensity throughout the track. The Asian influences present in Ikigai’s previous work soon make themselves known, as a reminder of her own body of work and as a premonition of what is to come later on. “Pele Tigre” is a beautiful homage to the artist’s grandfather and a talented musician in his own right.   An emotional and evocative track, “Supernova” marks an interesting detour into a more shoegaze-sounding territory for Portuguese artist VIIAL. The song is inspired by the famous Van Gogh painting “The Starry Night” and was originally included in the online collective project “The Sound Gallery” by American artist Godsviolin. The track starts out with a lonesome piano melody, surrounded by a swirling and mysterious soundscape, which soon explodes into a gorgeous and uplifting melody with full instrumentation. The vocal delivery is reminiscent of Sigur Ros, with the ethereal production adding to the effect.   “leasi beat 3 (a new beginning)” is the third installment of the “leasi beat” collections - a series of EPs by Dutch artist Leasi in which the common thread is the hyperpop influences that can be heard throughout these releases. The EP’s first track “headphone festival” is also the most chill of the three, even though it has a pumping dance beat going on throughout most of the song. It’s an instrumental piece that will leave you tapping your feet in time with the track, which also features lush pads, arpeggios, and an insanely catchy lead melody. The second track, “dancing on my own”, is my personal favorite out of the three cuts. The thumping beat is relentless and the high-pitched auto-tuned vocals are perfect for this track. The hook of the song along with the hypnotic melody in the background make this a memorable production that you won’t be able to get out of your head for the rest of the day.   Frequency Creature is a UK based musician and producer, and “Pressure City” is his first solo single, after having previously released an EP (“Supernova Love”) and a single (“The Night is More Alive”) in collaboration with other artists. “Pressure City” is an instrumental piece, composed entirely by the musician, with fellow artist Dan Menard on the guitar. It’s an emotional alt-rock track that wouldn’t feel out of place as part of an indie movie soundtrack - the kind of song that would play out as the protagonist drives off into the sunset.   “Passenger”, the debut single by Portuguese artist VIIAL, is a lofi pop track with a nostalgic and moody atmosphere. With an evocative piano riff running throughout it’s perfect for getting in a thoughtful and relaxed mood. The introspective lyrics talk about how we are all on a journey together and make us wonder about the interior life of those we cross paths with along the way. Little production flourishes that pop up every now and again, along with some surprising twists like the trumpet solo on the second half of the song, keep the listener interested throughout the track.
